Schumer: Five major airlines commit to no carry-on fees

Travesty! Annoying as it will be to pay for overhead space, it will lower the cost of the flight if people are more selective about the stuff they haul around on planes. Who know, maybe I'll figure out how to travel without anything that doesn't fit in my pockets.

There was a joke I saw a few weeks or months ago that I wanted to post to, but I can't find it. I thought it was on the onion, but apparently not. It was a picture of a new design for cargo pants that you can fit your whole wardrobe into. Or did I just dream that image???

Really I don't have much more to say than this guy: "Total socialism. Who is next if the government doesn't like your pricing? Should Intel be told to lower their prices to "get in line" with AMD? What about gas prices? How about food?"

worse than that is that is that you are creating an incentive to carry larger carry ons. They are allowed to charge for luggage that you check at the terminal, and then nobody has to bother with, but you can't charge for the extrememely annoying oversized bags that people try to cram into the overhead compartment. If anything it should be reversed, charging for stuff you want to bring on the plane, but if you are willing to let us handle it and keep it out of other passengers way then it's free. They have the system all backwards.

Also not penalized for bringing food on board the senators said? When was the last time these senators went through security, cause half of the food you might want to bring is not allowed already (and it seems to me that by any reasonable logic it should all be illegal. Can' bring gel, but i can bring a sandwich lathered in mayo, what kind of sense does that make.)

Obviously this is a determination for the market to make, if you like to bring on carry on bags, don't fly airlines that charge for them, but if you don't, and don't like the annoyance of other people doing it, then you should be allowed to choose an airline that might have lower ticket costs and be more convient for you because they have such a fee.

This is my counter:
