although that was a hilarious article, i don't think it really makes sense to use lithuania as their example. Lithuania is a young country, if anything it's an older country that earlier had been in an abusive relationship.
i read it as satire on a world full of people ignorant of any history predating the 80s. e.g., lithuania existed before 1990.
